Lavrov: Agreement needs to be reached to end military operations to restore regional security

On July 24th, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Aragorzi to discuss the tense situation in the Persian Gulf and the threat of peaceful resolution. Lavrov stated that a swift and stable agreement is needed to end military operations, restore regional security, and protect freedom of navigation. Since the US military struck targets in Iran on July 8th, hostile actions between the US and Iran have escalated. Iran has retaliated against US facilities in multiple Middle Eastern countries, and the US has resumed its maritime blockade against Iran.
