Kalshi accuses Netflix documentary trailer of defamation, demands removal and correction
Prediction market operator Kalshi issued a cease and desist letter to Netflix on July 24th, accusing the trailer of the documentary "Instadocs: The Prediction Games" of defamation and demanding that the trailer be removed and publicly corrected before the film's premiere on July 26th. Kalshi claimed that the trailer used forged transaction forms, implying that it allowed sports betting in Nevada and violated state court orders, and pointed out that the receipt date was May 16, 2025 and the interface did not conform to the platform style. Netflix denies falsifying footage, stating that the transaction took place before the Nevada restrictions came into effect in May 2025, and the scene was filmed at a private event in Las Vegas. Nevada regulatory authorities require Kalshi to complete the deployment of geofencing by August 12th, otherwise he will be fined $120000 per day.
