Three iOS users sue Apple for losing $1.8 million in Bitcoin for downloading counterfeit Sparrow Wallet

According to MacRumors, three iOS users have sued Apple in federal court in California, accusing them of downloading counterfeit Sparrow Wallet apps from the App Store between May and August 2025, resulting in a total loss of $1.8 million in Bitcoin. The lawsuit claims that Apple rarely takes action after being reported by victims, and fake apps remain on the App Store. Sparrow Wallet developer Craig Raw criticized Apple for its slow response to multiple counterfeit versions appearing on the App Store and failure to promptly remove related apps.
