Brian Armstrong: AI Agents Need Cryptocurrency as Financial Infrastructure

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that cryptocurrency is a universal technology, and AI agents cannot open bank accounts or make wire transfers, requiring real-time programmable cryptocurrency as financial infrastructure. AI agents need to hold funds, make payments, trade, finance, borrow, and handle taxes and investments on their own. Coinbase has pioneered relevant practices through the x402 protocol, Base, and USDC, and is currently building Agenetic Finance.
