BitRiver founder Igor Runets has been transferred to custody pending trial for alleged fraud of 100 million rubles

According to bits.media, Igor Runets, founder of Russia's largest mining company BitRiver, has been transferred from house arrest to detention pending trial by the Zamoskvoretsky court in Moscow on suspicion of fraud of 100 million rubles, and will be held in a detention center for at least two months. According to Article 159, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the investigation stated that the case involved the supply of mining equipment, causing nearly 100 million rubles in losses to En+Group's subsidiaries. The reason for the court's approval of the detention request is that Igor Runets may affect the witness.
