SpaceX's revenue exceeds expectations but stock price falls, Musk reiterates trillion dollar revenue target

--

SpaceX released its second quarter financial report, with revenue of $7.8 billion exceeding expectations. However, due to AI capital expenditures of $18.369 billion (including $16 billion for AI infrastructure) exceeding expectations of $13.2 billion, the stock price fell more than 5% after hours. Elon Musk has stated that SpaceX's goal of achieving $1 trillion in annual revenue may be advanced to 2030, and has proposed plans to build robot production facilities on the moon. Starlink's revenue for the second quarter was $4.3 billion, with 12 million users; AI business revenue was 2.561 billion US dollars, and rocket business revenue was 962 million US dollars. SpaceX plans to continue using Nvidia AI chips and expects its AI business to reach an annualized revenue of $10 billion by December of this year.
