JPMorgan Chase raises its expectation for technology industry debt issuance, with a projected size of over $500 billion this year

JPMorgan expects the issuance of technology related corporate bonds to exceed $500 billion this year. JPMorgan Chase has raised its forecast for debt issuance in the technology, media, and telecommunications industries from $450 billion to $540 billion in 2026. The team led by Morgan Stanley strategist Erika Speer believes in the report that chip supported financing will become the next major frontier in supporting AI infrastructure construction. JPMorgan has identified seven investment grade data center financing opportunities, four of which are expected to come from Oracle and OpenAI. JPMorgan expects Meta Platforms to return to the bond market after releasing its third quarter financial report, and Microsoft may raise funds from bond investors for the first time since 2017.
