Coinbase has deployed a high-performance matchmaking engine in Deribit, which can process over 100000 orders per second with matchmaking latency of less than 1 millisecond. This upgrade will connect Deribit to the same core execution infrastructure as Coinbase International Exchange. The new engine has added a built-in speed buffer mechanism to some trading instruments, and Coinbase plans to migrate all its perpetual contracts to this matching engine later this year.
