Recently came across @Bitget_zh launching the first fixed coupon note in the market, with a starting point of just 1000U. Feels like a good fit for friends who have some idle USDT lying around. Here’s the simple logic: lock in the strike price of a specific U.S. stock rTOKEN in advance. At maturity, if the price is still above the strike price, you get back your principal + fixed interest; if it drops below the strike price, you buy the corresponding rTOKEN at the agreed price, and still collect the interest. It’s like earning interest while setting a “buy if it hits my target price” psychological threshold. For example, if you’re bullish on rSNDK, rMRVL, rSKHY, or other U.S. stock rTOKENs but feel the current price is too high and don’t want to chase, you can use FCN to set a target strike price. At maturity, there are two scenarios: · rTOKEN ≥ strike price: Get back your USDT principal + agreed fixed interest; · rTOKEN < strike price: Buy the corresponding rTOKEN at the pre-agreed strike price, while still earning fixed interest. The annualized returns I’ve seen so far are pretty eye-catching: rSNDK around 56%–71%, rMRVL 49%–61%, rSKHY 46%–58%, rMU 39%–48%, rNVDA 13%–16%. Personally, I think it’s more suitable for a clear financial strategy: you have idle USDT and are already willing to buy a specific U.S. stock rTOKEN at a certain price. This way, if no purchase is triggered, you get back your principal and interest; if it is triggered, you’re buying the asset at a price you originally deemed acceptable. Of course, the high coupon rate comes with corresponding price risks—it’s not as simple as “guaranteed high returns.” Especially if a purchase is triggered and the rTOKEN price continues to drop afterward, you’ll still need to bear the market volatility. So I’d rather think of FCN as a tool that combines “earning interest” and “waiting for the right price to buy.” For those already planning to allocate funds to U.S. stock rTOKENs, this approach does offer an alternative to simply holding USDT. Entry point: Bitget → Finance → Fixed Coupon Notes
