[Germany's MiCA-Authorized Crypto Asset Service Providers Increase to 79, Leading the EU] According to a report by Cointelegraph, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has updated the MiCA registration list, showing that the number of crypto asset service providers (CASPs) authorized in Germany has risen to 79, making it the leader in the European Union. This surpasses France's 35 and the Netherlands' 29. The six newly added institutions are all German cooperative banks, including Raiffeisenbank Aidlingen, Ihre Volksbank, VR-Bank Mittelfranken Mitte, Volksbank Euskirchen, VR Bank Ried-Überwald, and Volksbank Backnang. ESMA data indicates that the total number of MiCA-authorized CASPs in the EU has reached 331. The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) stated that the high number of licenses in Germany is due to the large scale of its financial system and the fact that some institutions regulated domestically in Germany can adopt a simplified authorization process during the MiCA transition period.
