Samsung is developing an 8-layer HBM4E product according to Nvidia's requirements
According to the Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung Electronics is developing an 8-layer HBM4E product according to Nvidia's requirements for Nvidia's customized high bandwidth storage NVHBM. Nvidia requires a target speed of 17 to 18Gbps, which is about 20% higher than Samsung's early HBM4E sample's 14.4Gbps. The 8-layer design can reduce stacking difficulty and improve supply capacity, and NVHBM may be applied starting from next year's Rubin Ultra AI GPU. The GPU interconnect size of Rubin Ultra will increase from 72 to a maximum of 576.
