[Anthropic Considers Allowing Shareholders to Sell Shares in IPO, Abandoning SpaceX Model] According to Golden Finance, Anthropic is drafting a plan to allow existing shareholders to sell a portion of their shares during its highly anticipated IPO, while also considering implementing a longer-than-usual lock-up period post-listing. Allowing secondary sales by existing shareholders during the IPO would set Anthropic apart from two other major tech companies that went public this year, SpaceX and Cerebras, both of which prohibited existing shareholders from selling shares during their IPOs. In contrast, recent IPOs of large tech companies like CoreWeave and Figma allowed existing shareholders to sell shares while issuing new stock. This stock sale would enable Anthropic's shareholders to realize the massive wealth accumulated on paper over the past several years. The company's private valuation has steadily risen, reaching $965 billion as of May this year. Investment banks have discussed an IPO valuation of $1.5 trillion, slightly below SpaceX's IPO pricing valuation.
