The Bank for International Settlements has released Working Paper 1374, proposing a technical solution based on XRP Ledger to verify the source and integrity of official statistical data. This scheme generates encrypted fingerprints for the SDMX dataset and records the summary values of the batch data in the XRP Ledger, without storing the raw data on the chain. Users use digital signature credentials combined with a single on chain query to verify the identity of the data publisher and whether the data has been tampered with. Prototype testing shows that data release takes 3 to 5 seconds, and the verification process takes 1 to 2 seconds. The system is currently in the conceptual validation stage and has not yet been put into formal production environment.
