Orionx ceases operations and suspends withdrawals, audit finds $7 million funding gap
According to Bitcoin.com News, Chilean cryptocurrency exchange Orionx announced the cessation of operations and suspension of user withdrawals. A forensic audit found that over $7 million in custodial assets had been transferred to wallets outside the company's control. Orionx has accused former partners Joaqu í n D í az, Roberto Zibert, and other former employees of involvement in related transactions between 2018 and 2021, and has reported the case to the Chilean national prosecutor's office. The Chilean Financial Market Commission (CMF) has stated that Orionx is not authorized to provide cryptocurrency financial services and its operations do not comply with the Financial Technology Act. Orionx states that it cannot guarantee that users will retrieve all their funds.
