The scale of enterprise level stablecoin payments is limited and highly dependent on banking infrastructure
According to Decrypt, the current annualized scale of enterprise level stablecoin payments is about $390 billion, accounting for 0.02% of the global $208 trillion cross-border payment market, due to the high dependence of fiat currency deposits and local clearing on regulated banking systems. Enterprise payment funds start from bank accounts and end in bank accounts, while stablecoins only undertake the intermediate stage of cross-border settlement. The reliance on a single bank is an underestimated operational risk in the field of encrypted payments. The Silvergate and Signature incidents, as well as cases of "de risking" and "closure letters" by US regulatory authorities, show that once the only cooperating bank withdraws from the business, the company may be shut down.
