MetaMask announces independent operation, original Consensus renamed and focuses on consumer platform

MetaMask announced today that it will operate as an independent company. The original Consensus Software Inc. was renamed MetaMask and focused on consumer platforms, protocols such as Linea, and institutional infrastructure businesses to form a new company and use the Consensus name. MetaMask user assets, private keys, and access permissions are not affected, and users do not need to take any action.
