Hyperliquid Policy Center submits friend of the court opinion, supports CFTC and urges dismissal of CME lawsuit
The Hyperliquid Policy Center, a cryptocurrency policy advocacy organization, has submitted a friend of the court opinion to the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, supporting the CFTC and accusing CME Group of attempting to stifle innovation, urging the court to dismiss CME Group's lawsuit against the CFTC in June this year. The opinion letter was written by Elizabeth Preroga, who served as Deputy Attorney General during the Biden administration, on behalf of the Hyperliquid Policy Center. She stated that if CME Group wins, every new product approved by the CFTC could attract lawsuits from incumbent institutions who wish to maintain the status quo, and the pace of innovation in the US futures market would come to a halt.
