Mitsubishi UFJ expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by 25 basis points in September and keep rates unchanged in October

--

Mitsubishi UFJ expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by 25 basis points in September and maintain them unchanged in October. The reasons why strategists George Goncalves and Agron Nicaj adjusted their expectations include Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Walsh's speech at Jackson Hole, August employment data, and higher than expected CPI. Strategists believe that the likelihood of another interest rate hike in December is 55% -60%. (Source: Federal Reserve)
