Argentina commits to implementing a cryptocurrency reporting framework and launching tax information exchange by September 2029 at the latest

Argentina has committed to implementing the "Cryptocurrency Reporting Framework" developed by the OECD and launching automatic exchange of tax information for cryptocurrency transactions no later than September 2029. Argentina needs to incorporate this framework into its domestic law by 2029 and clarify the reporting obligations of cryptocurrency service providers. Trading platforms, intermediaries, and related service providers are responsible for collecting user names, addresses, tax residences, taxpayer identification numbers, and transaction information. ARCA can obtain information on overseas encrypted asset transactions of domestic residents and compare it with tax declarations. The first annual information reporting period to be included in this mechanism has not yet been determined.
