The Bank of England cancelled the plan to sell long-term treasury bond bonds and adjusted the portfolio liquidation plan of 488 billion pounds. The bank will hold 120 billion pounds of treasury bond maturing in 2049 or later, 222 billion pounds of treasury bond maturing before 2035 will be gradually liquidated, and 146 billion pounds of treasury bond maturing between 2035 and 2049 will be sold at an annual rate of 20 billion pounds. Bank of England Governor Bailey stated that this arrangement maintains the independence of monetary policy and maximizes funding efficiency. All quantitative tightening auctions will be suspended until April next year.
