The United Nations and Google launch UN System Data Commons, supporting AI agents to query data

The United Nations and Google have launched the UN System Data Commons platform, which supports natural language search and Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling AI agents to directly query statistical data from UN agencies and trace their sources. At present, 26 United Nations entities have participated, and data from nearly 20 entities have been launched. The goal is to include 80% of the statistical dataset by 2027, with Google.org providing $2 million in funding and technical support for the project. (Source: TechCrunch)
