Solana has shortened the target block generation time slot from 300 milliseconds to 250 milliseconds, and increased the block generation frequency by nearly 17%. The available computing resources and data volume for each time slot are correspondingly reduced, while the overall transaction processing capacity of the network remains unchanged. This adjustment is the third stage of the four planning stages proposed by SIMD-0525. The block permission window for four consecutive time slots of the verifier has been shortened from 1.2 seconds to 1 second, and the estimated duration of Epoch, which is fixed at 432000 time slots, has been reduced from about 36 hours to about 30 hours.
