Coinbase collaborates with Microsoft to combat the AI phishing platform EvilTokens, which utilizes AI to bypass multi factor authentication. Between October 2025 and June 2026, EvilTokens earned approximately $1.1 million through four Tron addresses. The relevant evidence led to the closure of 50 websites and the suspension of over 175 associated domain names. The Metropolitan Police in the UK arrested the operator and seized digital devices on September 11th. Coinbase accounts were not affected, and some customers were induced to transfer funds to fraudulent addresses.
