Bitwise has released a report on the adoption of institutional cryptocurrency assets, stating that during the period of approximately 50% drawdown in the cryptocurrency market from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2026, 15 surveyed large institutions did not reduce their cryptocurrency asset allocation, and some institutions increased their holdings. All surveyed institutions hold Bitcoin, which is mostly regarded as a value storage asset and is listed alongside gold as a hedge against fiat currency depreciation. The proportion of cryptocurrency assets allocated by the surveyed institutions ranges from 0.5% to 13% of investable assets, with most concentrated at 1% to 2%.
