11 Democratic Senators Urge Senate Banking Committee to Hold Hearings on Predicting Markets

Eleven Democratic senators from the United States Senate Banking Committee have urged committee chairman Tim Scott to hold a hearing on the prediction market. The committee plans to hold a prediction market roundtable next week, which will only be attended by Republican lawmakers. The roundtable will focus on the securities prediction market, and Kalshi is expected to attend. Currently, the main regulatory authority for the prediction market belongs to the Senate Agriculture Committee and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
