The number of deposit transactions on counterfeit currency exchanges surged by 160% in two weeks

According to CryptoQuant data, on September 28th, the number of counterfeit coin deposit transactions on the exchange reached 78000, an increase of about 160% from about 29800 on September 14th, the highest since October 2025. The number of exchange addresses where counterfeit coins were deposited during the same period increased from approximately 17600 to 51600. CryptoQuant stated that holders usually transfer their coins to the exchange with the intention of selling them, and Bitcoin briefly broke through $87000 last week before falling back.
