Most people in the crypto community don’t like telling their real-life friends that they’re into crypto. But I’m the opposite—I pretty much always say I’m in crypto. I earn money through trading and investing, and I’m upfront about being in crypto. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Plus, I’m not just involved in crypto. The other companies I’m part of, like ChenYu and HeSi, are leading enterprises in Shenzhen. At many dinner gatherings, if someone disses the crypto community, I’ll definitely stand my ground. I’ll tell them that Web3 is already legalized in most countries, and the U.S. explicitly supports it. Our country, considering its national circumstances, isn’t supporting it for now, but it’s using Hong Kong as a testing ground. The actions of a few individuals don’t represent the entire crypto community. (Honestly, Sun Ge’s situation has both boosted and hurt our reputation—it’s super polarizing.) Anyway. Recently, quite a few friends around me who are doing well used to look down on crypto. But after I talked to them, most of them ended up buying some $BTC. I’ve also encountered some stubborn people who I couldn’t convince. In the end, they hit me with this: “You’re not really a pure crypto person.” Talk about pulling the rug out from under me. No comeback for that.
