[French Crypto Executives Propose Direct Taxation on Cryptocurrency-to-Stablecoin Exchanges] (According to Bitcoin.com) Three executives from French crypto-related companies have proposed directly taxing exchanges between cryptocurrencies and stablecoins. The proposers are Deblock CEO Jean Meyer, Lyzi co-founder Damien Patureaux, and Waltio CEO Pierre Morizot. They argue that the current tax exemption for French holders exchanging Bitcoin for stablecoins results in tax revenue losses and underdeveloped infrastructure. The proposal suggests that this measure could simplify crypto payments for users and encourage merchant adoption. ADAN Director General Claire Balva stated that taxation can only occur at the fiat exchange level, as taxes can only be paid in euros, and this measure might drive users toward unregulated stablecoins like USDT outside the EU.
