MEXC and Bitget Restrictions in Russia and Belarus: How to Evaluate DEX Alternatives
Official sources reviewed: October 23, 2026.
Summary: Users in Russia and Belarus reviewing MEXC or Bitget restrictions should first check their own account instructions, then decide whether they need crypto spot trading, perpetuals, or both. MEXC’s service update and Bitget’s eligibility terms are different documents, not one shared withdrawal deadline. Compare DEX alternatives by access, markets, total costs, liquidity, and withdrawals. BBX offers BTC, ETH, and SOL spot pairs alongside multi-asset perpetuals; eligibility for residents of either country must be confirmed separately for each product.
What do MEXC and Bitget say about Russia and Belarus?
The official documents describe different types of restrictions. Check the document relevant to your platform and the instructions issued to your account.
| Platform | Official basis reviewed | What the document establishes | Account action |
|---|---|---|---|
| MEXC | Service update dated October 20, 2026 | Discontinuation of services for users of Russia or Belarus; affected users receive individual notices. Accounts without a notice are described as unaffected by this change, subject to the terms. | Check your own notice for position-closing and withdrawal deadlines; contact official support if unclear. |
| Bitget | Terms of Use, updated October 20, 2026 | Russia and Belarus are Prohibited Countries. Restricted Persons include people residing in those countries; eligibility requires that a user is not a Restricted Person. | Confirm account handling and withdrawal arrangements through official notices and support. The terms do not establish one shared withdrawal deadline. |

Residency, nationality, physical location, and the service entity handling an account can matter differently under different terms. Do not treat every Russian or Belarusian passport holder, wherever they live, as having identical account status.
What should affected spot and perpetual users check first?
Before choosing a new venue, establish what needs to happen on the existing one:
- Account instructions: Find the applicable notice inside the official website or app. Record the deadline and any product-specific instructions.
- Spot assets and open positions: Check whether trading and withdrawals remain available for each spot asset. For perpetuals, check whether opening, reducing, or closing positions is allowed and how remaining positions will be handled.
- Withdrawable balance: Distinguish spot holdings, available funds, collateral committed to positions, and amounts reserved for orders. Check pending withdrawals and any account-verification requests.
- Destination eligibility: Confirm that both the destination interface and the intended spot or perpetual product permit your use before sending funds.
Moving USDT does not move an open perpetual position. Closing a contract on one exchange and opening another on a different venue involves separate execution, costs, and price risk.
Do you need crypto spot trading, perpetuals, or both?
Start with the trading need rather than assuming every exchange alternative must be a perpetual DEX. Buying and holding a cryptoasset is different from opening a derivative position, even when the ticker is the same.
| Your objective | Product to examine | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Buy, hold, or sell BTC, ETH, or SOL | Crypto spot | Exact asset and pair, quote currency, trading costs, and supported withdrawal route |
| Open long or short derivative exposure to crypto prices | Crypto perpetuals | Margin and settlement assets, funding, liquidity, and liquidation rules |
| Trade stock-, ETF-, index-, or commodity-linked price exposure | The relevant multi-asset perpetual | Reference price, contract rules, trading status, and off-hours liquidity |
Ordinary fully paid crypto spot does not have perpetual funding payments or margin liquidation when no borrowing is involved. It still carries price, asset, platform, and network risks. Margin-enabled spot or borrowing is a different arrangement and should be evaluated separately.
A BTC spot balance is not the same instrument as a BTC perpetual position. Do not substitute a derivative for coins you intend to hold or withdraw. Availability of one product also does not establish access to the other.
How should users in Russia and Belarus compare DEX alternatives?
Confirm eligibility first, then apply the same criteria to every candidate and to each product you need.
| Criterion | What to verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Service and product eligibility | Residency, location, identity-verification, and product rules | Website access or wallet connection does not establish permission to trade. |
| Spot pairs and perpetual markets | Exact cryptoasset, product type, market status, and order types | A perpetual listing does not prove the same asset is available on spot. |
| Funding and collateral assets | Deposit asset and network; for perpetuals, margin and settlement assets | Accepting USDT deposits is different from using USDT as position margin. |
| Total costs | Spot execution fees, spread, slippage, conversion and transfers; add funding and applicable derivative charges for perpetuals | The same headline fee can lead to different complete costs. |
| Executable liquidity | Prices available for the intended quantity, on both entry and exit | Platform-wide volume does not establish liquidity in a particular pair or contract. |
| Transfers and risk | Asset withdrawal support, networks, minimums, costs and delays; margin and liquidation rules where applicable | Selling, closing a derivative, releasing collateral, and external withdrawal are different operations. |
Check the actual interface and product
A DEX interface, its underlying infrastructure, and individual market providers can have different terms. Review the route you intend to use. An absence of KYC does not remove eligibility restrictions. Check crypto spot, crypto perpetuals, and other perpetual markets separately where their rules differ.
Compare costs over the same transaction and holding period
For spot, estimate buying and selling costs, spread, slippage, conversion, and transfers. For perpetuals, add net funding and any relevant derivative charges over the intended holding period. Funding can be a cost or a credit and can change; normalize intervals before comparing venues. Do not charge perpetual funding to an ordinary fully paid spot purchase.
Check liquidity and the complete exit route
Inspect depth or an equivalent size-specific quote in the exact market. Verify how assets can be withdrawn after a spot trade, or how collateral can be withdrawn after closing a perpetual. For perpetuals, also examine maintenance margin and the price used for liquidation. Stock- or commodity-linked contracts need an additional check of pricing and liquidity while the reference market is closed.
Review smart-contract, oracle, bridge, stablecoin, and account-control risks where relevant. A DEX label does not establish identical collateral or withdrawal arrangements across services.
Where does BBX DEX fit in a spot and perpetual comparison?
BBX DEX offers crypto spot pairs for Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL), alongside a separate multi-asset perpetual product. Its spot overview describes crypto spot trading. Check the intended spot pair, quote asset, current status, and withdrawal support in the relevant interface.
BBX also documents USDT-margined and USDT-settled perpetuals linked to cryptoassets, stocks, ETFs, indices, and commodities. This extends the product range for users who need derivative exposure. A stock-linked perpetual does not confer ownership of the underlying shares.
These are product features, not confirmation of access for residents of Russia or Belarus. Before depositing, obtain clarification through official support for your residency, location, and intended spot or perpetual markets. Review the BBX Terms of Service and applicable product terms and notices; general website terms alone do not establish permission to trade a specific product.

What should you check before transferring USDT or cryptoassets?
After confirming eligibility, check the destination’s current deposit instructions for USDT or the specific cryptoasset you intend to transfer:
- Asset and network: Match the asset and network at both ends. Do not assume all services support the same USDT networks, or that an asset supported for trading is accepted for deposits on your chosen network.
- Deposit details: Verify the address, minimum amount, and any required memo or tag.
- Net amount received: Account for the sending platform’s withdrawal charge and any conversion.
- Account allocation: Confirm where the deposit is credited and whether an internal transfer is needed for spot trading or perpetual collateral. Do not assume a spot balance is automatically margin.
- Test transfer: Start with a small amount above the required minimum, then verify crediting and the withdrawal route before making a larger transfer.
A DEX also may not provide ruble or Belarusian-ruble P2P, copy trading, or the same account-recovery process as your previous exchange. Check those needs separately.
Crypto spot trading carries price and operational risks; perpetuals additionally involve margin-liquidation risk. This article provides general information, not personalized investment advice.

FAQ
Has MEXC announced a single withdrawal deadline for every user in Russia and Belarus?
The announcement assigns timelines through individual notices. It also says accounts without a notice are unaffected by this change, subject to its terms. Check your own account rather than another user’s deadline. [MEXC service update](https://www.mexc.com/announcements/article/service-update-for-users-in-russia-or-belarus-17827791539240).
Does Bitget’s restricted-country list establish a common account-closing deadline?
No common closing or withdrawal deadline is established by the reviewed eligibility clauses. Account-specific arrangements need confirmation through official notices and support.
Which DEX is available to residents of Russia or Belarus?
There is no availability list verified by this article. Check the terms of the specific interface and product for each candidate. A platform’s technical accessibility or inclusion in a comparison does not confirm eligibility.
Can residents of Russia and Belarus use BBX DEX spot and perpetual products?
Affirmative eligibility has not been established by the public materials reviewed for this article. Obtain separate confirmation for your residency, location, and intended spot or perpetual markets before depositing.
Can I transfer spot cryptoassets and perpetual positions in the same way?
Spot cryptoassets can be transferred only where both services support the exact asset and network. Sending coins or collateral does not transfer a perpetual position; closing and reopening exposure are separate trades with their own execution, costs, and price risk.
Can a no-KYC DEX still restrict users by country?
Yes. Identity verification and eligibility restrictions are separate. Review both the service terms and product-specific requirements.
Does BBX offer BTC, ETH, and SOL spot pairs as well as perpetuals?
Yes. BBX offers these crypto spot pairs alongside a separate perpetual product. Confirm the exact market, quote asset, current status, transfer support, and your product eligibility. A spot purchase is different from opening a perpetual position.
