The United States lists Brazil's CV and PCC as global terrorists

The US State Department announced that the Brazilian Red Command (CV) and the Capital First Command (PCC) have been designated as "Specially Designated Global Terrorists" and plan to officially recognize them as "Foreign Terrorist Organizations" from June 5, 2026. Two organizations have been accused of using digital currencies for money laundering, with PCC being involved in covering up money laundering through Bitcoin mining. Brazil passed a new law in March this year, which stipulates that confiscated cryptocurrency assets will be used for public safety expenditures.
