The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare stated that actual wages in August increased by 1.5% year-on-year, marking the eighth consecutive month of growth and lower than the revised 2.0% increase in July. In August, nominal wages increased by 3.8% year-on-year, basic wages increased by 3.8% year-on-year, and overtime pay increased by 5.2% year-on-year. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare calculates real wages using an inflation rate of 2.2%. Tokyo's core CPI rose to a 10 month high in September.
