EU plans to revise MiCA framework and adjust access rules for non EU stablecoin issuers

According to Bitcoin.com News, the European Union has decided to revise the MiCA framework to address access issues for non EU stablecoin issuers such as Tether. The introduction of the GENIUS Act in the United States and President Trump's push for stablecoins have accelerated this decision. Patrick Hansen, the EU policy leader of Circle, pointed out that there are regulatory gaps in the current MiCA system. The EU is considering including tokenized payments and deposits in the revised scope, and an EU diplomat stated that a reconsideration of the document is inevitable.
