According to The Block, Novig filed a federal lawsuit on August 15th in the Western District Federal District Court of Wisconsin, suing Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and state gambling administrator John Dillett. Novig expects Wisconsin to take enforcement action to prevent Novig from providing sports related event contracts to Wisconsin residents. Wisconsin sued Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood, Crypto.com, and Coinbase in April, alleging that their sports event contracts violated the state's ban on commercial gambling. Novig began providing contracts to Wisconsin clients a week before the lawsuit and requested the court to expedite the preliminary injunction to prevent state enforcement.
