G7 Cybersecurity Working Group releases report urging migration to post quantum cryptography
According to Decrypt, the G7 Cybersecurity Working Group has released a report urging governments and businesses worldwide to migrate to post quantum cryptography to address the threat of quantum computing to existing public key encryption. The report points out that quantum computers can crack widely used public key cryptography mechanisms in the future, posing a threat to the security of digital infrastructure. Attackers can adopt a "collect now, decrypt later" strategy to steal data and forge digital signatures. G7 calls for early planning and coordination between the public and private sectors to complete the relocation work.
