The core PCE price index in the United States rose 3% year-on-year and 0.2% month on month in August, both lower than market expectations. Personal expenses in the United States increased by 0.9% month on month in August, with actual personal expenses growing by 0.6%. After the data was released, traders lowered their bets on the Federal Reserve raising interest rates in October. CME's "Federal Reserve Watch" showed a 52.9% probability of keeping interest rates unchanged in October. The yield of US two-year treasury bond bonds fell more than 5 basis points to 4.843%, while spot gold rose more than $20 and stood at $4210. BEA has adjusted the calculation method for some PCE components.
