Asset management agencies sell long-term US Treasury futures worth $38 billion

Asset managers are selling long-term US treasury bond bond futures contracts. According to the data of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as of October 6, the net long position of ultra long term treasury bond bond futures held by asset management institutions has decreased by about $27 million per basis point risk, which is equivalent to about $38 billion of 10-year treasury bonds in cash. During the same period, the yield on 30-year US Treasury bonds rose to a 24-hour high of 5.68%, while futures contract prices fell. (Source: US Commodity Futures Trading Commission)
