J. Ayo Akinyele: XRP Ledger payment engine vulnerability fixed, did not cause excessive issuance of XRP

RippleX project leader J. Ayo Akinyele stated that there is a serious vulnerability in the XRP Ledger payment engine that has been present for over 10 years, which previously posed a risk of XRP being issued beyond a fixed supply. This vulnerability was discovered through a vulnerability bounty program and has not yet been exploited. The development team has released the fix version xrpld 3.4.1 and completed the network upgrade. XRPL will increase proactive safety investment, clean up technical debt, and promote formal verification.
