The app was launched under the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Tourist Digipay regulatory sandbox program and was jointly developed by Waan Exchange and Wipay, with partners including USDT issuers, The Mall Group, and Visa. Local merchants do not directly accept cryptocurrencies; payments are settled in Thai baht through standard payment systems.
