b14g released a recap of the CORE theft incident, stating that some funds have been recovered and a repayment plan has been formulated.

--

b14g released a security incident recap report for October 31, 2026. Attackers exploited a compatibility vulnerability between the b14g staking contract and the Core network's native staking contract, initiating 99 zero-amount withdrawal requests in a single transaction, resulting in the theft of approximately 97.05 million CORE tokens. This attack did not involve private key leakage, and BTC staked on b14g was unaffected. Approximately 68.15 million CORE tokens were recovered via the Core hard fork on November 2nd, while another approximately 12 million CORE tokens have been frozen by trading platforms. b14g plans to return the recovered CORE tokens proportionally within the next 5 to 7 days, and the remaining losses will be repaid using 50% of future Core staking revenue, which affected users can receive weekly.
