[Telegram Founder Reveals French Intelligence Pressured to Censor Moldovan Channels] Telegram founder Pavel Durov disclosed in a post on his personal channel that about a year ago, while he was in Paris, the French intelligence agency, through intermediaries, requested his assistance in helping the Moldovan government censor certain Telegram channels ahead of the presidential election. Durov stated that the initial list did include channels that violated rules and were removed, but the intermediaries hinted that, in exchange, the French intelligence agency would influence the judge who had issued an arrest warrant against him. Subsequently, Telegram received a second list, which included almost all channels that had not violated any rules but were flagged solely because their positions differed from those of the French and Moldovan governments. Durov emphasized that Telegram rejected this request and reiterated that the platform does not delete content under political pressure.
