Oman proposes to establish a joint management mechanism in the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran potentially relinquishing its sole control

According to Reuters, Oman has proposed to Iran a plan to establish a regional joint management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz, which follows the model of the Malacca Strait and is jointly managed by regional countries and adopts a voluntary fee model. Iran no longer controls the Strait of Hormuz alone, and the plan has received regional support.
