According to The Kobeissi Letter, hedge funds bought a net $4.8 billion worth of US stocks last week, marking the second largest weekly buying volume since 2008 and ranking 24th in history based on the total market value of the S&P 500. During the same period, institutional investors sold a net of $3.8 billion, ending four consecutive weeks of net buying. The average net buying size over the past four weeks has decreased to $3.9 billion. Retail investors sold a net of $200 million during the same period, and the average net buying volume over the past four weeks has decreased to $600 million.
