HSBC Hong Kong requires some existing investment clients in mainland China to submit a "Declaration Form for Opening/Maintaining Accounts" and update their contact information through the HSBC Hong Kong App before September 12th, which includes confirming that the investment funds come from legal sources outside mainland China. If the submission is not made before August 20th, investment related services may be suspended; If not submitted before September 12th, investment related services may be terminated. On August 18th, an HSBC spokesperson replied to reporters that HSBC follows relevant regulatory requirements when managing investment client relationships, inviting relevant mainland Chinese investors to provide self declarations and confirm the validity of "know your customer" and "customer due diligence" information. This requirement only applies to investment service clients.
