Citi plans to provide Bitcoin custody services through the Custody+platform within the year

--

According to Bitcoin News on the X platform, Citi plans to provide Bitcoin custody services to institutional clients through the Custody+platform later this year, integrating Bitcoin with traditional assets such as stocks and bonds into the same custody framework. This service supports custody, settlement, forex, cash, and liquidity services, with Bitcoin being the first digital asset supported by Citi's new custody service. Citi's goal is for banks to self manage native digital assets, and the Custody+project has been under development for about two to three years. Citi first disclosed its plans in 2025. Chris Cox, the head of Citi Investor Services, stated that Citi invests over $2 billion annually in the Services platform.
