According to Bitcoin.com News, Andrew Park, CEO of Factblock and organizer of Korea Blockchain Week, stated that the South Korean cryptocurrency market is shifting from retail driven trading to institutional digital finance. The Financial Commission of Korea plans to open corporate virtual asset accounts to approximately 3500 listed companies and registered professional investors. The South Korean National Assembly has passed amendments to the Electronic Securities Act and the Capital Market Act, incorporating real-world assets and securities tokens into the legal framework. The Bank of Korea has completed the preliminary trial of the Project Hangang Real World Deposit Token, and plans to conduct the second phase of institutional testing by the end of 2026, using wholesale deposit tokens to enable AI agents to perform automated conditional trading.
