The Italian central bank requires cryptocurrency service providers to conduct sanctions screening on every cryptocurrency transfer, with no minimum amount exemption. This requirement originates from the guidelines applicable in Italy by the European Banking Authority from December 30, 2025. The Italian central bank pointed out that the instant payment exemption for payment service providers does not apply to encrypted transfers, and encrypted enterprises need to review screening systems, sanction list updates, and alert procedures. MiCA authorization does not replace independent obligations under EU restrictive measures rules. (Source: Crypto Briefing)
