Former NCA official in the UK stole 50 bitcoins, sentenced and recovered $2.4 million

Paul Chowles, a former official of the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK, has been sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison for stealing 50 bitcoins from a Silk Road 2.0 investigation and seized wallet. The court has also ordered the recovery of £ 1.8107 million, approximately $2.4 million. The batch of bitcoins was worth approximately $77000 when it was stolen in 2017, and currently 30 bitcoins have been recovered. (Source: Decrypt)
