Goldman Sachs postpones Federal Reserve rate hike expectations from October to December

--

Goldman Sachs Group stated that the US inflation data and the speech by New York Fed President John Williams have reduced the possibility of the Fed raising interest rates in October. Economists Jan Hatzius, David Mericle, and Alec Phillips predict that the year-on-year growth rate of core PCE in the fourth quarter will be 3.0%, lower than the median forecast of 3.4% for FOMC participants. Goldman Sachs has postponed its expectation of a second interest rate hike to December and believes that there is a high possibility that the FOMC will deem it unnecessary to raise interest rates.
