SEC Chairman Paul Atkins: More crypto regulatory rules will be introduced to assist Trump in achieving his goal of becoming a cryptocurrency capital

--

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated that the SEC will continue to advance cryptocurrency and digital securities regulation and introduce more rules to ensure that the digital asset market remains in the United States. Paul Atkins pointed out that the regulatory framework for cryptocurrency custody proposed by the SEC aims to update the rules established in 1940, which is part of the SEC's comprehensive cryptocurrency regulatory system starting from 2025. The system also includes Regulation Crypto Assets and Innovation Exertion, the latter of which will establish a 5-year sandbox allowing trading of US stocks on decentralized exchanges and liquidity providers. John Reed Stark believes that this regulation pushes beyond the authority of the SEC and bypasses congressional power. Paul Atkins stated that more regulatory proposals are about to be introduced and will continue to assist President Trump in promoting the United States as the global cryptocurrency capital.
