[Ramaswamy Runs for Ohio Governor, Crypto No Longer a Core Issue] According to a report by Cointelegraph on October 6, Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of Ohio. While his stance on cryptocurrency remains unchanged, it is no longer a central issue, marking a contrast to his 2024 presidential campaign where he strongly supported Bitcoin and opposed CBDCs. He holds approximately 5.69 million shares of Strive, a company he co-founded, with a market value exceeding $170 million. As of August 28, Strive held 23,156 BTC, worth around $2 billion. His campaign website accepts cryptocurrency donations, with World Liberty Financial's co-founder contributing the maximum allowable amount of $16,615. Additionally, his super PAC received $20 million from Susquehanna's co-founder and $5 million from Elon Musk. The report attributes this shift to local voters' negative sentiment toward cryptocurrency and controversies surrounding data centers.
